See it? Look a bit closer. Trashline orb weaver spiders get their common name because they’re not the tidiest of spiders, decorating their web with a line of debris (prey remains, plant material, etc.). As you can see (or not see), this helps camouflage the spider, protecting it from potential predators. There are five species in this genus in North America.
