This beautiful species of antmimic spider lives in a variety of habitats — typically close to the ground, under rocks and logs, or in leaf litter. As a type of ground hunting spider, they do not spin a web to capture their prey. Instead, they hunt “on foot.” They often mimic carpenter ants by slowly waving their front pair of legs in the air as if they were antennae.
