The last time this butterfly graced a What’s Buzzin’ report (7/25/19) it was found at a much higher elevation …9,200 ft., above treeline, near the top of St. Mary’s Peak in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. The temperature was only 35 degrees and the wind was blowing hard. Talk about a hardy little butterfly! This one was found in a meadow in the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area. Look for them high and low from July to August in Montana.
