Bugs and Brews w/ Bug Wrangler Brenna

May 22 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

When Brenna got her start at the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium over half a decade ago, she didn’t know the first thing about bugs. Now, she’s a well known science communicator, bug wrangler, and the kind of person who will severely slow down a hike to look at a bug. Join us this month to hear about some of her favorite insect topics – from parasitoid wasps to medical maggots and beyond – we’ll explore the weirdest and wildest corners of the insect world as she takes you on a tour through her learning journey at MBHI.

Brenna Shea began her tenure at MBHI in 2017 as a volunteer while working on her biology degree at the University of Montana. She was hired at MBHI the following year as a full time lead animal keeper. After 6 1/2 years, she’s retiring the Bug Wrangler moniker, but continues to share her love of insects and arthropods with anyone who will listen.
