Online Bug Encounters: Thermal Tolerance and Thermoregulation in Arthropods

September 21 @ 1:00 pm

Insects and other arthropods are ectotherms, i.e. cold-blooded, meaning they cannot generate their own body heat; this poses some obvious challenges in temperate climates, where seasonality causes major temperature fluctuations. With the first day of fall coming up, Bug Wrangler Brenna will be diving into the unique strategies arthropods employ in order to survive the colder weather.

Join us every Wednesday at 1:00pm for our Facebook livestream! You’ll learn about some of the amazing insect and arthropod species we share our planet with. Tune in for each encounter as we’ll be covering a different topic (with new critters) each time.
