Aptly named, wolf spiders are fast, ground-dwelling hunters. Many species live in burrows. You may often see a female carrying her cream-colored egg sack from the end of her abdomen, the one in the photo appears to have a tinge of blue. After hatching the baby spiderlings hang out on mom’s back for a few days before heading off on their own.
