Common Ringlet (Coenonympha tullia) — The eyespot on the backside of the upper wing can often help identify this relatively small butterfly, but as with all things, they vary a lot. Other common ringlets were seen in the same area where this one was photographed with only a pale, creamy yellowish spot. No black or dot within the “eyespot”.
