Grasshoppers are hard to identify when they are little …but we couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful capture. Grasshoppers hatch from the egg and simply grow larger, developing wings and sex organs as they go. The young typically live in the same habitat as the adults and eat the same food. We don’t know where this one is at in its development, but by the time it is an adult it will have molted six to ten times.
