It’s a bug eat bug world out there …and this scene was the latest proof. This species of assassin bug is found across Canada, throughout the United States and into northern Mexico in weedy fields and meadows. As a type of true bug (order Hemiptera) they have impressive piercing / sucking mouthparts which are used to stab their prey. The adults and nymphs can also use this mouthpart to deliver a bite.
