Pine Tussock Moth (Dasychira grisefacta): As the name would suggest, this wild looking caterpillar feeds upon the needles of fir, pines, western hemlock, and spruce. They are rarely seen, but have occasional outbreaks that can have an impact on trees. They can be found throughout most of western North America, from BC/Alberta south to New Mexico.
