Goldenrod Crab Spider (Misumena vatia): Right now, this beautiful crab spider sticks out like a sore thumb on this yellow flower. Goldenrod Crab spiders most often “sit and wait” for prey amongst flowers that are similar in color to their body. If this individual chooses to remain on these flowers, it will slowly change color (turning yellow) over several days to better blend in with its surroundings.
