If a Swordgrass Moth landed in a bed of bark chips, it would pretty much disappear. These moths range across the northern US and Southern Canada. In the Rocky Mountain regions, they are typically found in mixed hardwood-conifer forests at middle elevations, particularly near water. Since they overwinter as an adult moth, they are one of the first species found flying once the weather gets warm enough.
