Home Range: Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico
Habitat: Lives in leaf litter and under rocks and logs in dry grasslands, forests and deserts

Interesting Fact: Centipedes don’t bite with their mouths. They have a pair of pincers, called gnathopods, underneath the first segment of their body. Glands at the base of each pincer secrete venom that kills prey.
