Bug Clubs

After school clubs are a fantastic way for kids to have fun while learning about insects and their relatives’ role in the natural world. Our clubs feature plenty of time for holding bugs, playing games and creating unique works of art. Thanks to new partnerships with other educational organizations in town we’re able to expand our offerings, reaching more kids and covering more STEM topics. We’re excited to share these club offerings with the young bug lovers of Missoula!

Creative Creatures with and at the Montana Natural History Center

This camp sits right at the intersection of art and science. Thanks to an exciting new partnership between the Montana Natural History Center and the Missoula Butterfly House & Insectarium campers will have a chance to work with specimens and educators from both organizations. We’ll explore, hold live Bug Ambassadors, and create unique, fun art projects every day. This camp is perfect for all young bug and nature lovers, especially those with artistic inclinations!

Exciting Experiments at spectrUM Discovery Area

We’ll be bringing out our inner “mad-bug-scientist” throughout this fun after school bug club! Each week we’ll conduct a new experiment, each one involving live Bug Ambassadors to learn more about the world of insects and their relatives. Also each week? Exploration time in the SpectrUM Discovery Area! Each camp session starts with a healthy snack and exploration time and wraps up with an experiment in the spectrUM classroom. Special thanks to spectrUM for letting us use their space!
