Last week we featured a black witch moth that had unfortunately met its demise. This week Kathy found one of these locally rare giants (with a wingspan up to six inches) in a couple counties away. Black witch moths migrate from Mexico at the start of the rainy season (typically in June). They head northward, primarily through the western United States, and go as far as southern Canada. They can be regularly found throughout the year in southern Florida and southern Texas.
